“How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun.” – Vincent Van Gogh
I don’t know about you, but I find colour psychology fascinating. First impressions are everything and colour is one of the best ways to evoke emotion and shape perceptions.
It’s used in marketing and design to shape our view of a specific business, in photography and video to portray moods that the artist is trying to get across and in fashion design to present yourself to the world in the way you want to be seen.
Colour psychology is also used to describe personality traits. It’s actually very useful once you realize what colour you are and read about how you can better relate to other colour personalities.
Here’s what www.thelandofcolour.com says about people that love yellow.
If you favor yellow, one of your most appealing traits is your consistently sunny and fun disposition. Your optimism is resolute and infectious even in the most trying circumstance. Ignorance is bliss and you simply refuse to see the glass as half empty; from your perspective, it is always half full.
You have a reputation of leaping before you look. Sometimes the impulsiveness pays off because while others are stalled by indecisiveness, your spontaneity and willingness to take action positions you several steps ahead of the competition.
Your positive nature should not be misconstrued for extreme extraversion, as you prefer tight-knit social circles to extended networks. Those who know you best describe you as happy, imaginative, and highly intellectual.
You don’t have to love yellow to love it in photos, but I do find it interesting when personality types match an overall tone in photos. Here in Alberta we have a few weeks of pretty amazing yellow fields when the canola blooms. It’s one of my most requested session types. The best time to shoot these sessions is mid-to-end of July.
Take advantage of my Early Bird Booking Special and book your canola field session in April! I will be booking a very limited amount of these sessions because we will be on vacation for part of July as well!
Here are a few of my faves!
