Today I had another assignment for my Marta Locklear workshop. I had to shoot something from 10 different angles to try to get as many different perspectives on the same item without moving it. It was fun to just mess around and go all out on my processing and textures! Here’s a few of my fave’s.

We took a little getaway to Mazatlan last week. It was wonderful to get a bit of sun! Here are a few of our trip.

So I decided to jump on the Etsy bandwagon. Who knows if anything will come of it but it’s worth a try right? I posted some of my Europe photos on there for sale as canvas art. We’ll see what happens.

We’ve been talking about what holidays we’re going to take this year… thinking Mexico, maybe Florida after Christmas. I’m happy to go anywhere and get away from the cold and snow, but I would love to go back to Europe. Our trip last April/May was just wonderful and I really miss it. I loved the old buildings, the character everywhere you turn. One thing I really hate about Canada is the way we build. Everything goes up cheap and fast, and when we think our cheap and fast building looks outdated we tear it down and throw up something else equally cheap and fast. I love the way the Europeans do it. Quality, amazing craftsmanship, classic design. Art, culture and old beauty everywhere… Yep, missing europe today…

What do you do if you’re home on holiday Monday and are a little bored? Seems like setting up studio and taking photos of the kids is a good idea;) I haven’t managed to get many good shots of Lacey so that was the goal today. She’s so much harder than Gabe. He flashes me those puppy dog eyes and the camera just loves it. Here’s a few…

I did a shoot with Emily today, and yes she is only 13. Unbelievable, I know. You are going to have a very nice career ahead of you Emily! You did great today:) Here’s a little peak at what we got up to.

My mom was here for 10 days from Mexico. I haven’t seen her in a year and it was so nice to spend time with her. Spending that time with her made me realize how much I miss out on having her here. We drank copious amounts of coffee and wine, talked until way past our bedtimes, she baked cookies with my kids, and generally brought sunshine and joy to us for the week she was here. We miss you mom! Here are a few of my fave’s from last week.

Today we went outside before lunch because I wanted to get a few good shots of Lacey… well she wanted nothing to do with me so Gabe jumped in and decided he wanted his photo taken. Wowsers… he has his daddy’s eyes… Not the color or shape, but when he gets in front of a camera he does this thing with his eyes that make me think I can see right down into his soul. It’s something John can do as well, which I think is why they’re both so photogenic and perfect models for me.
