A photography session with Karey will be fun and relaxed. She wants to capture your children being themselves, not posing for the camera. Sessions last from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the number of and age of the children. We stay relaxed and realize that kids don't always want to play along, get messy and cranky along the way. We do our best to be as quick and respectful of parents and children as possible. Karey will shoot wherever you want. Once she understands a little more of what you're looking for and what your family/children's interests are she will suggest a few locations. Her preference is to always shoot outdoors in the early morning or evening, when the light is best for photos. In this Alberta climate, that's not always a good option so a shoot in my home studio or your home will work as well. We understand kids have schedules and times that they're best so we will always work around what's best for your family situation. A few options of clothing is a good idea. Textures and colors are great, but logos and really bold prints can be distracting. Bare feet are a must in the summer and hats always look cute on kids. In general, try to stay away from bright white, jeans are always a good option, and if in a group a similar tone of clothing is best. Kids also feel more secure if they have a special blanket or teddy bear, so please feel free to bring along that special toy. Once you book your session a full welcome pack will be emailed to you with lots of ideas on what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect for the shoot.
